Overthinker is a self-portrait that emerged from a period in which excessive thinking left me feeling physically and emotionally immobilized. The work depicts only the head, tilted to one side as if it were about to fall, reflecting the weight of thoughts and the sense of helplessness that accompanied them.

I chose to decapitate the figure as a way of interrupting the cycle of thoughts that seemed to repeat endlessly. The half-closed eyes suggest introspection, uncertainty, fatigue, and withdrawal, while the absence of the body reinforces the sense of being trapped within the mind. This work became the starting point for Closer, where the internal tension moves from containment toward expression.
