Corpus Alienum
Mixed Media, 6x5x7.5 cm

“Corpus Alienum” —a medical term for a foreign body lodged within an organism— becomes a metaphor of belonging and exclusion. The work depicts a newborn breaking out of the nest while kicking the umbilical cord, a gesture that expresses rejection, uprooting, and at the same time, the struggle for affirmation.
Beyond anatomical literalness, the sculpture reveals the feeling of being a stranger within one’s own origin, of not recognizing oneself in what should offer refuge. With moving symbolic power, the piece invites reflection on identity, vulnerability, and the search for a place in the world.
